Eden Alternative

The Drew Nursing Home is on a path to implementing the Eden Alternative, a philosophy of care that addresses the emotional needs of our residents.

Through staff training and a focus on environment, the Drew aims to reduce the feelings of loneliness, helplessness and boredom that often plaque the residents of nursing homes.

Providing a loving environment, through easy access to both human and animal companionship, and enriching daily life with a variety of activities and experiences, are just some of the antidotes we are experimenting with at the Drew.
