Meals for Seniors

Meals for Seniors

The Meals for Seniors program is coordinated by the Drew Nursing Home for the Sackville, New Brunswick, area. Anyone limited by age, infirmity or ability to make their own meals is eligible to for this weekday service, which provides one hot meal per day delivered Monday-to-Friday directly to their home by volunteers. The nutritionally-balanced meals are prepared at the Drew under the supervision of our food service manager/dietician. A meal includes one portion of fish or meat; vegetables; soup or salad; bread, biscuit or roll; and dessert. Special diets and client preferences are respected. The cost of each meal is reasonable and in some cases may be covered by provincial programs. If you, or someone in your family, would benefit from receiving a hot meal each weekday, please call us at 506-364-4900, or or call Donna Lowerison directly at 506-364-4909, for more information. If you wish to volunteer to deliver meals, please call the same number. For more information about being a volunteer driver, read this recent article from the Sackville Tribune Post.
