Drew-Tantramar Foundation

A thoughtful way to say thank you

The Snoezelen room and garden are multi-sensory environments used for many types of therapy. and especially soothing to residents with dementia.

Foundation funds are used to purchase furnishings that help make the Drew feel like a home.

Residents and their families often ask us how to express their gratitude for the care they receive at the Drew, especially during times of illness and changes in life style, or in sorrow over the loss of a loved one.

One meaningful way to say “thank you” is to make a donation to our Foundation, which helps to ensure that we can continue to provide the best possible quality of life for all of our residents.

The work of our Foundation helps us make the Drew Nursing Home and Tantramar Residences welcoming places to live. Our commitment to quality care in a comfortable, home-like environment is made possible by the generous donations of people like you.

How can you help?

There are many ways to contribute to the Drew-Tantramar Foundation:

• Donations and Gifts
A cash donation to the Foundation can be put to work immediately. Such gifts are sometimes made in honour of a friend or family member who has a birthday or other special event in their life, or in memory of someone who has passed away.

• Annual Giving
We also encourage you to make annual gifts to help sustain the work of the Foundation and plan for future projects.

• Bequests
In consultation with your financial advisor, you may decide that a bequest is a heartfelt way to remember others, and to be remembered yourself. Your lawyer can help you add a clause to your will, which states your personal wish to share part of your estate with the Foundation.

• Life Insurance
Another way of making a donation is by designating the Drew-Tantramar Foundation as an irrevocable beneficiary of a new or existing life insurance policy. For new policies, it may be possible to claim the premiums on your income tax return as charitable donations.

The tax benefits and implications of charitable giving can vary for different individuals. We encourage you to consult with a financial advisor to help determine what type of giving works best for you.
